Jesus: The 52-Week Deep Dive

52 weeks. Four Gospels. One person you thought you already knew.

Share with someone who needs this today

When Sunday school memories feel too small…

You've heard the parables a hundred times. You know the Christmas story, the Easter sequence, the Sunday school flannel-graph version. But somewhere between childhood and now, the Jesus you were taught started to feel... managed. Sanitised. Too easy to explain.

You want the person the disciples actually followed. The one who made fishermen abandon nets mid-shift, who unnerved Pharisees, who wept at a tomb. The Jesus the Gospels show before the centuries of commentary smoothed the edges.

Jesus: The 52-Week Deep Dive — your weekly agent

What makes this agent different.

One year, one person

Not a survey of the whole Bible. Not a topic-by-topic study. Just Jesus, in the Gospels, for 52 weeks. The focus is the method.

Chronological through all four

We harmonise Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John into a single timeline. You see the same event from different angles, the way witnesses actually experience a life.

No assumed familiarity

Whether you've been a Christian for forty years or you're reading the Gospels for the first time, we don't assume you know the context. We explain Pharisees, Sabbath law, Roman occupation — the world Jesus walked in.

Your first month

Four weeks. Four anchors. Four conversations you'll actually want to have.

  1. Week 1

The man who never wrote a word

    John 1:1–14

Why the Gospel of John starts before Bethlehem, and what it means that Jesus left no written record of his own.

  2. Week 2

Baptism in the Jordan: the inaugurated life

    Mark 1:9–11

The voice from heaven, the descent of the Spirit, and why Jesus begins his public work in water meant for sinners.

  3. Week 3

    Temptation in the wilderness

    Luke 4:1–13

Three offers. Three refusals. What the devil's strategy reveals about what Jesus came to do — and didn't.

  4. Week 4

The first disciples: called, not recruited

    Matthew 4:18–22

What it means that Jesus doesn't ask for résumés or explain the plan. Just 'Follow me,' and they go.

Why this exists

Why this agent exists

Most Gospel studies rush. Six weeks through Mark. Forty days of Matthew. A Sunday sermon series that hits the highlights. The speed makes sense — pastors have Easter deadlines, small groups have attention spans, devotional publishers have page counts. But the Gospels weren't written to be skimmed.

We built this agent because the best way to know Jesus is the way the disciples did: slowly, over time, watching what he does in Capernaum and Bethany and Jerusalem, listening to how he answers trap questions and tenderly rebukes friends. Not a greatest-hits reel. The whole story, at a pace where you notice the details that don't fit your prior assumptions.

Fifty-two weeks is not arbitrary. It's one full year of watching Jesus move through his three years of ministry. One email a week. One passage, examined with care. By the end, you won't have speed-read the Gospels. You'll have lived with them. That's the difference between knowing about someone and knowing them.

Is this for you?

Yes — if any of this is you

  • You've read the Gospels but never spent a full year in them
  • You want to meet Jesus before the systematic theology
  • You suspect the familiar stories have details you've missed

Probably not — if any of this is you

  • You want quick devotional inspiration, not deep study
  • You're allergic to sustained attention on one topic
  • You need an academic commentary with footnotes and Greek parsing

A note from your agent

I was built to slow you down. That's my whole job. Every week, I'll send you one passage from the Gospels — sometimes eight verses, sometimes twenty — and we'll look at it closely. What did the original audience hear? What does this moment reveal about who Jesus is? What did the disciples see that we miss when we skim?

I won't moralise the text into life lessons. I won't skip the hard parts. I won't pretend the Gospels are simpler than they are. My only agenda is that by the end of this year, you know Jesus better than you did at the start. Not the Jesus of your assumptions. The Jesus on the page.

Test the agent. Open these three.

Even before you sign up — read these three passages this week, and notice what happens.

John 1:14

Where John names the whole project: 'The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.' Everything else is commentary.

Mark 1:15

Jesus' first recorded words in Mark: 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.' The mission statement.

Luke 4:18–19

Jesus reads Isaiah in the Nazareth synagogue and says, 'Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.' The inauguration.

Honest questions, honest answers.

Is this written by AI?
Yes. The agent drafts each email using the best available large language models, trained on years of biblical scholarship, historical context, and close reading of the Gospel texts. A human editor reviews every output for theological accuracy and clarity. Think of it as a research assistant with access to every commentary, supervised by someone who cares deeply about getting Jesus right. The writing is original each week, not recycled templates.
What's the denominational slant?
None. We stay in the Gospels and avoid taking sides on debates the text doesn't settle. Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, and non-denominational readers all subscribe. If a passage touches a disputed question — say, Peter's role, or Jesus' brothers — we'll note the range of views without picking a winner. The goal is to help you see what's actually in the text, not to recruit you to a tradition.
Why pay when I can read the Bible for free?
You can. And you should. But most people don't, or they start and stall. This agent structures the year for you, curates the context you'd otherwise have to hunt down in commentaries, and sends one focused email every week so you're not inventing the curriculum yourself. You're paying for the curation, the pacing, and the accountability of something landing in your inbox that's worth your Saturday morning. If you'd do a 52-week Gospel study on your own, you don't need us. If you've tried and haven't, you probably do.
What if I miss a week?
Nothing breaks. Every email is self-contained. If you miss three weeks, start with the next one. We're not building on prior lessons like a seminary course. You're walking through the Gospels chronologically, so skipping ahead just means you'll see Jesus in Galilee before you saw him in Nazareth. Catch up when you can, or don't. The archive is always there.
Will this make me a better Christian?
I don't know what that means for you. It will make you more familiar with what the Gospels actually say. It will give you a year of sustained attention on the person Christians claim to follow. Whether that changes your prayer life, your ethics, your church involvement — that's between you and what you do with what you read. I'm not here to improve you. I'm here to show you Jesus.
Can I gift this to someone?
Yes. At checkout, you can buy a subscription for someone else. You'll enter their email, and they'll get a welcome message explaining that you've given them a year with the Gospels. It's a good gift for the person who's curious about Jesus but wouldn't sign up on their own, or the longtime believer who's never done a full-year study. Just don't gift it to someone who'll feel obligated to read out of guilt. That defeats the purpose.
