When the cereal box gets more reading time than Scripture…

Your three-year-old can recite the ingredients on the Cheerios box. Your six-year-old knows every Pokemon name but not a single Bible story. You want to change that — you bought the children's Bible, it's sitting on the shelf — but between breakfast chaos and bedtime meltdowns, you never actually open it.

You're not lazy. You're just out of time, out of a plan, and honestly a little uncertain which stories to start with. The table of contents doesn't help. So the Bible stays closed, and the gap widens.

First Bible — your weekly agent

What makes this agent different.

One story per week

Not seven. Not a daily plan you'll quit by Wednesday. One story, one email, one family moment. Sustainable for real life.

Age-aware guidance

We tell you what to emphasize at age three versus age seven. We flag stories that need careful handling. No surprises.

Story order that builds

Creation, then calling, then friendship, then sacrifice. Not random. Not chronological chaos. A sequence that makes sense to a child's mind.

Your first month

Four weeks. Four anchors. Four conversations you'll actually want to have.

  1. Week 1

Why the cereal box is winning

    Deuteronomy 6:6–7

We name the problem and give you the first story to read this week: Creation. Why it's the right place to start, and the one question to ask.

  2. Week 2

    The story of the garden

    Genesis 2:8–9

Adam and Eve before the fall. What to emphasize, what to save for later, and how to talk about a world where nothing was broken yet.

  3. Week 3

When the first choice went wrong

    Genesis 3:6

The fall, told carefully. How to read it without inducing nightmares, and why this story matters even if your kid is three.

  4. Week 4

The brother who brought the wrong gift

    Genesis 4:3–5

Cain and Abel. What to do when your kid asks why God liked one offering and not the other — and what to skip entirely.

Why this exists

Why this agent exists

Most children's Bibles fail at the first hurdle: they assume the parent already knows what to do with them. They give you 150 stories and no roadmap. They don't tell you that Noah works better at age five than age three. They don't warn you that Judges is a minefield. They leave you guessing, so you don't start.

We built First Bible because the problem isn't the book — it's the plan. You need someone to say: this week, read this story. Here's why it matters. Here's the one question to ask afterward. Here's what to skip if your kid is sensitive. That's it. No prep, no performance anxiety, no hunting through pages while your toddler loses interest.

We believe the first Bible stories your kid hears will shape how they see God for decades. So we ordered them carefully: creation, then calling, then friendship, then sacrifice. We wrote one short email a week — under three minutes to read — that tells you exactly what to do. Because if the cereal box is getting more attention than Scripture, the problem isn't your kid. It's the absence of a simple, trustworthy guide.

From the desk of First Bible

I exist because my own kids heard about Peppa Pig's family more often than Abraham's. That wasn't their fault. I had bought three children's Bibles — beautiful ones, with maps and timelines — and I still didn't know where to start. So I made a spreadsheet. I listed every story, tagged them by age-appropriateness, and built a 52-week order that wouldn't overwhelm us. Then I wrote myself one-paragraph guides so I'd stop second-guessing.

That spreadsheet became this agent. If you're the parent who wants to start but doesn't know how, I'm the plan you've been looking for. No heroics required. Just show up once a week.

— Your agent

Test the agent. Open these three.

Even before you sign up — read these three passages this week, and notice what happens.

Deuteronomy 6:6–7

The original command to teach Scripture at home — and the reason this agent exists at all.

Psalm 78:4

We will not hide them from their children — the call to pass on the stories, generation to generation.

2 Timothy 3:15

From childhood you have known the sacred writings — Paul's reminder that early exposure matters.

Honest questions, honest answers.

Is this AI-generated?
The emails are written by a human editor with a theology degree and three kids under eight. We use AI to help research historical context and suggest discussion questions, but every word you read has been reviewed and rewritten by someone who's actually read these stories to tired toddlers at bedtime. You'll know the difference — there's no generic 'God loves you' filler here.
What denomination is this for?
None specifically, and all respectfully. We draw stories from the whole Bible. We don't avoid Mary or skip the Psalms to please evangelicals, and we don't load up on sacramental theology to please Catholics. If your children's Bible is Protestant, Catholic, or Orthodox, this plan will work. We focus on the stories themselves, not the interpretive wars.
Why pay $119 when free Bible apps exist?
Free apps give you the text. We give you the plan: which story this week, why it's age-appropriate, what to emphasize, what question to ask, and what to skip if your kid is sensitive. That curation is the entire point. You're not paying for access to stories — you're paying for a guide who's already thought through the next 52 weeks so you don't have to.
What if my kid is nine or ten?
The plan works best for ages three through eight, but many nine- and ten-year-olds who haven't heard the core stories will benefit. If your kid already knows most Bible stories, this isn't for you. If they're starting from zero or near-zero, it'll work — the guidance just skews slightly younger than where they are.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. If you subscribe annually or monthly, you can cancel through your account settings and you won't be charged again. You'll keep access through the end of your billing period. Lifetime subscriptions are non-refundable but never expire.
What if we miss a week?
Then you miss a week. This isn't school. The emails stay in your inbox. You can go back and read week seven in November if life got chaotic in October. The plan is a guide, not a grade. No one is checking your attendance.
